Grounds & Automotive Shop


MISSION:

The Grounds and Automotive shop are a division of Facility Services, Operations and Maintenance Department (FSOM) under Campus Operations. Ground's mission to beautify our campus is achieved through routine maintenance of all lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, athletic fields, and other outdoor areas on a planned schedule. Automotive's mission is to provide routine maintenance and care of all fleet vehicles, lawn equipment, and other transportation devices.

Campus Grounds

Maintains all university grounds including landscaping, irrigation, outdoor trashcans, maintenance of athletic fields, and the care of outdoor art.

  • Mow, weed-eat, edge, blow-off debris
  • Installation of plants, trees and shrubs
  • Trimming of trees and shrubs
  • Sports Fields Maintenance
  • Irrigation Systems (Install, repair, and adjust)
  • Interior Pest Control (Vendor)
  • Outdoor Pest Control (Weeds, insects, etc.)
  • Dead Animal Removal
  • Minor pot hole repairs
  • Major pot hole repairs (Vendor)

Automotive Shop

Performs preventative maintenance, and repairs to the University vehicle fleet, and Facility Services, Operations & Maintenance equipment. Fleet vehicle and related maintenance data are maintained in accordance with State Regulations and Fleet Management Plan, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø A&M University System Regulations, and Comprehensive Compliance Plan through the State Office of Vehicle Fleet Management (OVFM).
