Up-Coming Events

  1. April 16, MEG Engineers is hosting an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) Day event in their Pharr office.  10 am to 12 pm.  Registration details on flyer.
  2. April 23, SpawGlass is hosting an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) Day event in their Harlingen office.  10 am to 12 pm.  Registration details on flyer.
  3. April 24, we are hosting a departmental lunch and learn.  We will be welcoming a panel of civil and architectural engineering alumni to speak about their experiences transitioning from student to professional.  ENGC 109 at 12:30 pm.  We will serve lunch.  Email breanna.bailey@tamuk.edu if you prefer a Zoom link.

Job Opportunities

  2. is a new software program available to students.  Similar to Handshake, Interstride helps students with international job searches.

Scholarships

  1. The for students pursuing STEM degrees.  This comes with tuition, annual stipend, internship, and a guaranteed job post-graduation. 
  2. The 51勛圖厙 Department of Transportation offers a for engineering students.  Deadline is April 1 annually.

  1. Looking for tutoring?  Stop by the JESSC or Lucio Hall!  Remember the JESSC offers a wide range of services to foster student success. 
  2. Did you know that the JESSC has an internship coordinator who can help you fine-tune your job search?  Contact javengrjobs@tamuk.edu for more information.

  4. The Corpus Christi chapter of ASCE and several local firms are providing shadowing opportunities for students interested in visiting local engineering offices.  Please email Dr. Bailey if you want to participate.  Open to both CE and AE students. 
  5. FE PREP COURSE AVAILABLE! Discounted PPI program available to students for $95.  Each student will receive access to an electronic copy of PPI’s review manual, 2 attempts at a 110 question mock exam, and 6 months of access to online questions and other review material.  Interested students should contact Austin McCoy (austin.mccoy@tamuk.edu).
  6. Thinking about graduate school?  The fast-track program allows undergraduate students to take up to three classes that count for both undergraduate and graduate credit.  For more information, speak to Dr. Choi (jong-won.choi@tamuk.edu).  Graduate fellowship opportunities are available for talented undergraduates wanting to work on their M.S. in Civil Engineering at TAMUK.
