1980–1982: Product Development Engineer, Digital Design Group, Philips India.

Developed LED and LCD based microprocessor multimeter models in collaboration with Philips Eindhoven, Holland. Both products were successfully commercialized.

RESEARCH

Research Areas:  Machine learning, artificial intelligence, adversarial machine learning, information fusion, data analysis and decision making with uncertain, non-ideal or missing data, fault tolerance, image processing, distributed multi-agents, and pattern recognition.

Awards: Received 10 Best Paper Awards.

Recognition: Recognized in 2024 as World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University in Machine Learning and Image Processing.

External Funding: Received $10 million in external funded research as PI or Co-PI from different agencies: NSF, US Department of Energy, National Institute of Justice, NASA, EPRI, National Consortium for Technology in Business-ASEE, DARPA, DoD Army Research Laboratory, and the FBI.
