Dr. Jonathan Cresci is the Assistant Professor of Sound Recording Technology at 51勛圖厙 A&M University-Kingsville. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Recording Arts and Sciences and Trumpet Performance from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Music (MM) in Trumpet Performance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Trumpet Performance and Music Education from the University of Memphis.
Dr. Cresci’s research interests lie at the intersection of immersive audio production and audio production pedagogy. His work explores innovative approaches to sound recording techniques and the ways in which educational practices can be enhanced to meet the evolving demands of the music industry.
With over 25 years of professional experience as a producer, engineer, and performer, Dr. Cresci is an active figure in the music industry. His contributions include collaborations with artists and students from across the United States, where he has developed a reputation for excellence in both creative production and technical expertise. As a nationally and internationally recognized speaker, Dr. Cresci frequently presents on topics related to behind-the-scenes aspects of the music industry, audio production, music performance, and education.
In his role as an educator, Dr. Cresci draws on his 17 years of experience in higher education to mentor and inspire the next generation of musicians and audio professionals. Through his work, he aims to empower students and colleagues alike to realize their full potential, fostering a learning environment that emphasizes both creative exploration and technical mastery.
